( ACTIVITY. )

Activity Check

Here at Silent Spring, AC is relatively low to accommodate the busy lives of a largely working, late-20s-and-older playerbase, and so that the game is still playable for people whose lives during weekdays (or whichever days work) relegate them to being weekend taggers.

We require one (1) AC proof per month, either a thread of 5 log comments, an event toplevel posted no later than the 20th of the month, 15 short network comments, or 5 multiparagraph network comments. You may not use a thread with the same character for two AC periods in a row.

You can post AC at any time in the month, the earlier, the better! This makes it easier for mods to space out administrative work through the month.

We allow for hiatuses of 1 month, up to 3 a year, not back to back. Players get one strike if they cannot make AC (with the exception of extraneous circumstances - please explain these to mods as soon as you are able to even if you’re not sure you’ll be unable to make AC and just think you might not make AC).

All of this said, think of AC proofs as a small cross-section of expected activity, the absolute bare minimum. This is a very small game, and there aren’t unlimited slots. Out of consideration to the people who didn’t make it in after you, please don’t squat.

New players should post a comment with their handle in the subject line, and then reply to that comment with the following subject line: Character Name | Canon | Role (Husband, Wife, Child).
For each month, post a new comment in reply to the subject line with your character’s name and canon, putting [Month] [Year] (ex: “January 2024”) in this comment’s subject line.

AC Proof: Event TL with Agathe ([personal profile] frauseufzen), Sokka ([personal profile] carniravenous), and Numbers ([personal profile] workingthenumbers).

What did your character do this month? At the New Year’s Eve celebration, Raskolnikov met Sokka; afterwards, while looking for information on the people he saw during the memshare, he found Bucky in the library, and they’ve been saying some not-HOA-approved things about the memshare situation in particular and Sweetwater as a whole. His house lost power during the snowstorm, and he went door-to-door asking for more details about the power outage and offering candles and supplies to anyone who might be struggling. He didn’t do much during the mannequin situation except hide and mope, although he did encounter Beth hiding in a clothing rack. Norman got his hands on him after the mannequin incident, so Raskolnikov spent the end of the month being generally miserable and wandering aimlessly around the town.

AC Proof: LOG thread with Beth ([personal profile] littlemissfutility)

What did your character do this month? Jupe experienced one of the transplanted memories on NYE--which threw him for a loop, to say the least--and hesitantly (and covertly) discussed it with his stalker Edward Nashton. His month only got weirder from there, as he sheltered with someone (Beth) during the power outage who insisted he was her brother-in-law, and encountered a near-catatonic man (Numbers) at the grocery store.

(He was, however, entirely spared from Mannequin Madness.)

There were also various other snowy shenanigans, and he'll be attending the dinner party at Arthur and Helly's--mostly to get a read on to know other people and establish himself as a friendly face, but also to try and figure out if anyone else died prior to coming to Sweetwater.

AC Proof: Event Toplevel.

What did your character do this month? Edward is getting settled! Both because of how large in scope and contextless this situation is for him, in addition to naturally being more of a long term planner, he underwent the initial panic and then settled quickly into the idea escape will take some time. He's in Observation mode, with some small social breaks — getting to know his wife Beth, conversing with Jupe and Sokka, running into Papyrus and Helly at the mall/New Year's respectively, and attending the dinner party where he may or may not manage to mingle. Once jobs open up he'll be aiming for a mechanic position, which'll be fun.

AC Proof: log thread with Bucky ([personal profile] freakymagoo)

What did your character do this month? Beth has spent the month trying to blend in while she figures out what the hell's going on. After meeting her 'husband,' Edward, and starting to trust him - at least enough to live in the same house - she also encountered Helly, Bucky, and Jupe, then survived killer mannequins with Maureen and Rodya. Her most notable experiences were comparing home life with Edward (and thereby discovering that not everyone's overrun with zombies) and mistaking Jupiter for a family member. She'll be going to the dinner party at the Lesters' as well, where she'll be somewhere in the middle on the "let's kill a guy" plan.

AC Proof: Event Top Level threads with Sans ([personal profile] ribticklers), Sokka ([personal profile] carniravenous)

What did your character do this month? Papyrus experienced a few vivid memories that weren't his, had some loud public conversations with Arthur and Numbers about it, and "enjoyed" a movie night sleepover with Norman! Once home, he eventually stumbled outside where Sans found him and walked him to a different home, and Sokka interrogated him about the missing time a bit.

A couple weeks further in the month, he teamed up with Edward to survive the mannequins, and offered some snow-shoveling services during the snowstorm. Off screen, he's been experimenting with the ways gelatin can be combined with other foods... and washing a lot of dishes.

What did your character do this month? Agathe began to get the lay of the land, meeting her husband Rodya and a few neighbors (Helly, Maureen, Jupe, Numbers, Arthur, Margaret) and gleaning some small amount of information while doing her best to stay out of trouble.

AC Proof: [LOG] thread with Numbers [personal profile] workingthenumbers and Teddy [personal profile] tedandroses.

What did your character do this month? Wrench got the lay of the land with his new wife, and introduced them to his formerly-dead partner. He tried to figure out what happened when both of the aforementioned two disappeared for a while and then came back drugged out of their minds. He attended a covert "dinner party."
