Activity Check


Here at Silent Spring, AC is relatively low to accommodate the busy lives of a largely working, late-20s-and-older playerbase, and so that the game is still playable for people whose lives during weekdays (or whichever days work) relegate them to being weekend taggers.

We require one (1) AC proof per month, either a thread of 5 log comments, an event toplevel posted no later than the 20th of the month, 15 short network comments, or 5 multiparagraph network comments. You may not use a thread with the same character for two AC periods in a row.

You can post AC at any time in the month, the earlier, the better! This makes it easier for mods to space out administrative work through the month.

We allow for hiatuses of 1 month, up to 3 a year, not back to back. Players get one strike if they cannot make AC (with the exception of extraneous circumstances - please explain these to mods as soon as you are able to even if you’re not sure you’ll be unable to make AC and just think you might not make AC).

All of this said, think of AC proofs as a small cross-section of expected activity, the absolute bare minimum. This is a very small game, and there aren’t unlimited slots. Out of consideration to the people who didn’t make it in after you, please don’t squat.

New players should post a comment with their handle in the subject line, and then reply to that comment with the following subject line: Character Name | Canon | Role (Husband, Wife, Child).
For each month, post a new comment in reply to the subject line with your character’s name and canon, putting [Month] [Year] (ex: “January 2024”) in this comment’s subject line.

What did your character do this month? Met the above people at the first event, either at the NYE party in the town square, researching the flashback or shoveling snow. He had some one on one time with Doctor Norman, got a toe tag clue, but was too drugged out and paranoid to discuss it with anyone this month. Prior to the first event, he's met Arthur and Sokka.

What did your character do this month? Norton explored the town a bit, and after a nightmarish encounter with attack mannequins, explored the department store and found a mysterious button recently installed in the service desk. He also met Helly R (in person) and Teddy (over the network), and will be attending a dinner party/clandestine subversive gathering hosted by Arther Lester and Helly R at the end of the month.

What did your character do this month? Margaret has been trying to blend in with the town for the most part, though has become increasingly distressed as the events of New Years and the mannequins have unfolded. She has been continuing to bicker with Vasiliy in an attempt to prove the superiority of the United States, as well as conversing with her new neighbors to try and identify allies in this strange town.

What did your character do this month? Numbers met with Wrench (and his "wife", Teddy) to discuss potential next steps for getting out of this town. He also spoke with a few of his neighbors to gather more information. Following the mannequin incident, Numbers was impatient and barged into the police station to try and goad the authorities. Really stupid move, overall! He spent the back half of January shuffling about under the effects of sleep deprivation and haloperidol.

And then immediately after recovering from the effects, he went on an ill-advised quest with Arthur and Norton to break into Norman's house and snoop. Which went as well as you can expect. But hey, at least they have more information for next potluck.
